About This Fish

Burmese Clouded Archer Fish for Sale (Toxotes blythii)

The Burmese Clouded Archer Fish (Toxotes blythii) is one of the largest, rarest, and most impressive archerfish species available in the aquarium hobby. Known for its clouded silver pattern, powerful body, and legendary water-spitting hunting behavior, this species is highly sought after by advanced oddball and brackish fish keepers.

These Burmese Clouded Archer Fish for sale are prized not only for their size potential, but for their intelligence and interactive feeding response. Archerfish are famous for shooting jets of water to knock insects from above the waterline, making them one of the most engaging species to observe and feed.

Compared to more common archerfish species, Toxotes blythii grows significantly larger and develops a heavier, more commanding presence, making it ideal for large aquariums, brackish systems, or freshwater setups with proper long-term planning.

All Burmese Clouded Archer Fish are:

  • Healthy and actively feeding

  • Properly acclimated

  • Carefully packed for shipment

  • Covered under our Live Arrival Guarantee

Burmese Clouded Archer Fish Care & Requirements

Burmese Clouded Archer Fish require large aquariums, open swimming space, and strong filtration. While often sold as freshwater juveniles, this species typically does best in brackish conditions as it matures.

They are semi-aggressive and should be housed with similarly sized, fast-moving tankmates. Smaller fish may be viewed as prey.

This species is recommended for experienced hobbyists familiar with archerfish behavior and brackish water systems.

Lonely Archer

I made my first purchase and it was for 2 Burmese clouded archer fish. Unfortunately one of them didn’t make it and I wish I had chosen overnight instead of second day air but I was not expecting that the water would leak out. Not Rob’s fault at all. I did reach out and he said he would send me a new little guy once he gets them in stock again. Other than that little mishap my survivor is healthy, happy and shooting his targets which has been entertaining to watch. Thanks Rob’s Aquatics!

Thank you so much for the thoughtful review and for giving us the opportunity to make things right. I really appreciate your understanding regarding the shipping issue, and I’m glad your surviving Archer Fish is doing well and already showing off its personality. Burmese Clouded Archers are incredible fish, especially once they settle in and start targeting food. I’ll absolutely keep you updated once we get more in stock so we can replace the one that didn’t make it. Thank you again for the support and for choosing Rob’s Aquatics!
